Angela Ten– Maple Creek, Saskatchewan

Posted in My Three Questions

Angela Ten

June 20, 2019. Angela, another of Taylor’s research assistants, offered some rather unique answers here that illustrated a different side of growing up in the computer age. As with Taylor and Colton, Angela is concerned about the world. Hopeful though, all.

Are you in love?

“No, I’m not in love.”

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

“ I can’t say there’s any one person. I just kind of…I have friends from all over the world. I lived mostly an online life growing up, so, just like a whole bunch of different influences from people, literally all over the world. It was just, I liked the internet–didn’t have too many friends in, like, school life, so I was like, ‘What’s left? The internet!’ I made a whole bunch of internet friends!”

How do you feel about the future?

“I feel like we’re kind of on…we’re hanging on a precipice. It’s like there’s a lot of crowd movement. People, just everyday people are starting to realize that climate change is something we need to be addressing right now, and with a lot of radical change. But on the other hand, there’s the people who hold all of the power that are just pushing back. So, I feel like, it depends on who wins this upcoming election. I don’t know if we have as much time as the election after that. It depends on who ends up getting the upper hand–people with the will to change or, the people who just want to make their money and die.”
