Posted in My Three Questions

Nick Ayzak

June 16, 2019. Did you know that Canada has a desert? It does! This arid region around the town of Osoyoos, in BC’s Okanagan Valley is like nothing else in Canada. I know, because I drove there. I parked on the main street and before I had stepped up onto the sidewalk, I had already made eye contact with handsome Nick on his way past. “Excuse me! I have a strange question,” I said. He smiled at my offer of his tackling the three questions and then tucked right in! A lovely human to be sure!

Are you in love?

“Yes I am! I’m married to a girl from Guatemala. Ah, we’ve been together for about seven years now.”

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

“Uh, I would say my grandmother who has passed. I used to visit her every day after I got home from college–I went away for college for about four or five years and when I moved home, that’s who I really missed, so, yeah. She’s the biggest influence in my life.”

How do you feel about the future?

“Uhm, that is a good question. (He laughs) I am a hopeless romantic and I love being hopeful, so I am…hopeful about the future, I guess it’s the best way to put it.

Ah, sometimes it doesn’t look very good in the future but I’m hopeful the people in charge right now and the people who will be in charge soon will help build a good future for our families…and the future!”
